Prospective evaluation of adverse events during neonatal endotracheal intubation
Intubations of neonates is a difficult procedure, even if trained physicians perform it. We aim to prospectively record adverse events related to the procedure by means of a structured questionnaire. Secondary endpoint is to identify anatomical landmarks to guide correct insertion depth of the endotracheal tube.
On the basis of data obtained by the described observational study we plan an interventional study on the effect of an interprofessional training on the success rate of intubation in neonates. |
